YOUR PRESENCE HAS PURPOSE

You don’t need
all the answers.
Start by showing up.

Listen. Encourage. Follow through.

A consistent relationship gives a young person room to ask questions, discover strengths, and take the next step with support.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Your mentoring questions.

What is the mentor commitment?

Mentors commit to an academic year and meet twice a month. We encourage supportive relationships that continue through graduation. Contact LAD to discuss meeting times and local opportunities.

Do I need mentoring experience?

You need a willingness to listen, learn, and follow through. LAD will discuss your background, the preparation process, and the requirements for participating.

How does LAD approach youth safety?

Mentors complete required screening, training, and approval before student contact. Meetings and communication follow approved program arrangements, with clear boundaries and reporting procedures.
